When I was young I thought everyone was like me.
I thought everyone's mom was white and their dad was black.
I thought everyone had two older brothers and one younger sister.
I thought everyone lived in a little yellow house with a fence around it.
I thought everyone had a big dog in the backyard named
Princess and a cat named Christmas.
I thought everyone had two loving parents who respected each other and thier children.
I thought everyone had a dad who worked hard all week to provide for his family.
I thought everyone had a stay at home mom who sacraficed just to be able to raise her children.
I thought everyone could walk on the top of their big toes.
I thought everyone was allergic to milk.
I thought everyone took their two month old kittens and bathed them in their Barbie pool.
I thought everyones mom took them at 3 years old and started teaching them to read and do word puzzels.
I thought everyone had an ice-cream cake on their birthday.
I thought everyone lived in a loving and nuturing enviroment.
I thought my father would live forever.
I thought I would never see my mom cry.
I thought I could never be a diabetic.
I thought I would have my dad to walk me down the aisle on my wedding day.
I thought my children would have both grandparents to love and spoil them rotten.
I thought I knew all about how things were suppose to be.
I know now When I was Young life isn't like we think it is.
I know now life is different for all of us.
I know now we must learn from everything given to us and that life is a continual journey.
I know now I must look ahead and grow and learn from each of my life's experiences whether they be good or bad.
I know now if I ever stop to look ahead advance and grow then I will be no different then When I was Young.
