Unsung Heroes
As I cast my eyes towards Old Glory
what do I really see
I see the many men and women
who fought and died for me
Though I did not know them
most had gone before my birth
They are still no less my heroes,
fought and died for freedoms worth
They sacrificed and fought for
an honor and a flag
And if not for these unsung heroes
no freedom would we have
They were someone's father
someone's son and daughter too
From all branches of the service,
shed their blood for me and you
Not only when it's Memorial Day
should we remember them with pride
But everyday, as we look to the flag
thank these heroes who fought and died
